Suttum vizhi chudar

I just happened to listen to this song from "KaNdukoNdaen KaNdukoNdaen"

"Beautiful Bharathiyaar Poetry" rendered by Hariharan with minimal orchestra. The music blends with the lyrics and u can actually hear the sound of twinkling of stars(nakshathirangaLadi) and chirping of birds(kuyil oasai). The abrupt picturisation where the damsel in distress (Aishwarya) is rescued by the knight in shining armour (Abbas!!??) irritates me. But for the time being am too busy admiring the lyrics and the legendary poet's views about nature & love and the way in which he has weaved it in words, that am ready to ignore the picturisation part.

Here goes the lyrics of the ecstatic song!!

Suttum vizhi chudar dhaan - kaNNammaa
Sooriya chandiraro

Vatta kariya vizhi - kaNNammaa
Vaanak karumai koLLo

Pattu karuneela - pudavai
Padhitha nalvayiram

Natta nadunisiyil - theriyum
NatshathirangaLadi

Solai malar oLiyo - unadhu
Sundharapunnagai dhaan

Neela kadalalaye - unadhu
Nenjin alaigaLadi

Kolak kuyil oasai - unadhu
Kuralin inimayadi

Vaalai kumariyadi - kaNNammaa
Maruvak kaadhal koNdaen

Saathiram pesugiraai - kaNNammaa
Saathiram yedhukkadi

Aathiram kondavarke - kaNNammaa
Saathiram undoadi

Moothavar sammadhiyil - vadhuvai
Muraigal pinbu seivom

Kaathiruppenoadi - idhu paar
Kannaththu muththam ondRu

@murali - Yes, love at first sight is exaggerated a great deal at the end of the song in d movie.

@jagan - Nee nadathu paa. How I wish it could have been someone else other than Abbas!!

@vee-jay - Agree with you. He is absolutely incomparable :)

@awakening coma - May be the way in which they r shot makes u lose the enthu. But to be very honest, once upon a time, I used to read Bharathiyar poems just for marks in Tamil - my 2nd language. But after listening to "Kaakai chiraginile" from Ezhaavadhu manidhan, I was damn inspired and became a great fan of his :)

If u were so much disturbed by "Kandukondein" version of "suttum vizhi sudar" u cud prefer to see the one in Gajni...which is also a melodious number...:-)but doesnt resemble the Bharathiyar Poetries though !

Wow.. that is one of my favorite songs.. As you said, pure Hariharan voice unadulterated by loud music..

Neela kadalalaye - unadhu Nenjin alaigaLadi

    You can hear waves roaring..

Kaathiruppenoadi - idhu paar Kannaththu muththam ondRu

You can her little petting sound.. Just great!!

Actually Barathi knows the secret.. Here he describes the Kundalani & its way.
Few people in all religions knows this secret. It is the narrow passage as described by Jesus or the star & crescent sign or the vasi yogam from indian siddhars.
You can only enjoy if you know the inner meaning
