When I read Shaam makes his decision, the first thot that struck me was, probably he was going to say goodbye to film industry and was planning to explore some other different field :) Hez one actor whom I feel had been so unlucky. He looks good, many girls do like him - call him smart n handsome, has a decent fan base. The only thing that he lacks is impressive performance - should agree that he has tried hard for it in 12B and Iyarkai. Almost all of his films flopped, Iyarkai and Ullam kaetkume being exceptions - they were a moderate hit(though not because of "Shaam" factor) Personally, I felt "Ullam kaetkume" and "Hey nee romba azhaga irukke" were ok-watchable types.

But will he get a break?? May be he can console himself with the fact that, "Even Vikram gave a string of flops before Sethu, after which there was no looking-back" :)

shaam sucks when it comes to dialogue delivery...(Aey Nee Romba... being a good example)...at places he would sound more feminine than Sneha.

Although I felt it was an ok movie...i decided not to watch any more Shaam movies from then.

Shaam is a perfect example to say that mere looks would not help one become a star. He must either change is accent or let someone else dub for him. Same is the case with Jeyam Ravi also.

@sri - LOL @ Anagayaum Shaam nalla adala adhu vera matter :D

@balaji - HNRAI was his first movie that I'd watched. So din realise the dialogue delivery was "that" bad, but with subsequent ones, I felt so damn irritated. The irony is, he thinks hez perfect in every aspect and the only problem is with selection of script ;-)

Agree with kuttichuvaru ABCD was worst but I would attribute that to the director rather than to Shyam.

Sometimes its just matter of time that allows you to evolve and shine.

Except for 'Iyarkai'(that too bombed!), he was quite unimpressive in most movies. But atleast his movies are tolerable than the superstar wannabes!

@kuttichuvaru - ABCD Paakala. Trailer and "ManjaL mugame" paatu paathuttu "must-not-watch"-la categorise paNNiten :)

@dubukku - Vaanga aNNachi! vaanga :) As u'd said, Shaam vishayathula though time is a major factor, self-improvement and honing his skills also plays an equally important role

@me too - Exactly!! When compared to those "stuck to wall lizard characters", ivan evvLavo better

@visithra - Yeah, I remember he was a model once upon a time, though I've never seen him in any of the ads/hoardings :))
