It is a belief that, "If you stay awake throughout the nite on Vaikunta ekadasi/Sivarathri day, you'll attain Vaikuntam/sorgam - the heavenly abode". But I feel indha concept-a vechuNdu theatres are making good money. They double the ticket cost and screen two movies in the nite continuously starting from 10:30 pm. A poster of a local theatre here says "Vaikunta ekadasiyai munnitu iraNdu padangaL, orey ticket-il" and u know vot the movies are - New and Manmadhan. Huh!!
