King Kong - not a review, just my views

I hate Carl Denham(Jack Black) for bringing Kong to the NewYork city. I despise him for his selfish motive to make millions of dollars. I felt like hitting him hard on his face when he introduces the chained Kong to the audience as, "He was a King, now he is a captive". King Kong - the King of undiscovered Skull Island, the huge ape, inspite of its enormous size is damn sweet. He plays the macho hero rescuing the heroine from the nasty beasts. And you can't resist your heart going out to him, when he tries to stand on top of the Empire State building, hit by gunshots and tries to bang his chest to convey that hez still the King. When compared to his size in Skull Island, I felt a drastic difference when hez in the city. The animation and Andy Serkis' movements for the ape is absolutely perfect.

The scenic beauty of the forest has been wonderfully portrayed. However, the number of beasts and monsters in the movie is just too much!! There are dinosarus, T-Rex, monstrous cockroaches and many others whose names I honestly don't know. Especially the one that kills Andy Serkis is horrible. Naomi Watts fits perfectly into the role of Ann Darrow who enchants Kong. She is handled like a toy by the ape. Jack Driscoll(Adrien Brody) doesn't have much of a role to play other than falling in love with Ann.

I wonder what happened to those savage tribals when Carl Denham's crew captures the ape near "The Wall". And how did Driscoll manage to reach Ann and the ape so easily? I was somehow reminded of tamil movie "Anjali", when Kong hits Ann and makes her fall on the ground with a single finger, picks her up, makes her stand straight and hits her again ;-)

Overall, itz a "WOW!!" movie by Peter Jackson. Loved watching it and felt really bad when King Kong was killed :(

Me too liked the movie for the graphics and the ape. the movie was a bit too slow at places and jack black plays baddy convincingly.

I was overawed by the fight sequence between King Kong and the 3 dinosaurs.

The film had too many beasts that I felt King Kong was a bit of Titanic, Jurassic Park, Godzilla, Spiders, Bats. Wonder why PJ missed Lake Placid.

@sri - Irundhaanga. But the ape was the centre of attraction :)

@harish - Do watch it. And am very well known for my typo errors :) D and S-a keyboard-la yaaru pakkathu pakkathula vechadhu :-P Maathiten!!

@balaji - Yeah! Had there not been these many beasts, the movie would have been shorter. And though it took a longer time for Kong to make his appearance, it was worth the wait.
