He was studying in 2nd grade when he was so jealous of his dad's profession. One fine day, he went and expressed it "Appa, naan Diwali-ku pattaasu kaetta mattum konjooNdu vaangi thara, aanaa nee mattum daily velai velai-nu full day maththaapu vidara? Naan periyavan aanaa unna maadhiri dhaan aaven". His dad was taken aback, was extremely shocked. He took his son aside and explained him in the best possible way about his work and concluded "Indha welding thozhil ellaam ennoda pogattum. Nee nalla padichu periya doctor-engineer-aa varaNum. Nalla paer edukkaNum. Indha welding machine-a kayyaala kooda thoda koodiya nelamai unakku veNdaam, sariyaa?" His dad's words, thoughts and expectations sank into his mind. As years rolled, he passed his exams exceedingly well and secured a seat in one of the presigious engineering colleges.

And now, here he is, standing in a queue, in his first year workshop practicals session, waiting for his turn to learn the basics of arc welding!!
